Camera- Establishing shot, panning across the sea, calming effect. Then shows a close up of a man who has been washed ashore which changes the mood of the scene because the audience wonder why he is there. Worms eye view of the man with the gun to make him seem above the man who has been washed ashore. Cuts to inside a building with lots of dim lights and you see the back of a man sitting at a table.
Editing- Cutting between the happy children to the sad face of the man. Then cuts to a man looking down on him poking him with a gun. Close up of the mans hands as he picks something up from the table so the audience focuses on what he is doing. The screen the cuts to a similar scene but the men are dressed smarter and it seems like a civilised conversation they are having.
Mis-en-scene- The man looks very rough and tired, the viewer wonderes what has happened to him previously. Soldier is dressed in camouflage and army clothing. Dressed smartly, shows a sense of authority.
Sound- Gentle but slightly frantic crashing of the waves entertain the viewer while the image of the sea is simple. You then hear laughter of the children playing on the beach and wonder why they have not noticed the man washed ashore. After the children's laughter it is quiet which builds suspense. The music is then slow and a background noise which is building the tension as the men talk quietly.
