Analysis of Typography- Panic Room

In the opening of Panic room the scenes are very realistic with the typography placed on top of the scenery of the city. They waste no time in showing the credits, and the first credit that is shown is Columbia Pictures - a famous production and distribution company which could draw the viewer in. The credits are in an interesting grey shade which really stands out to the audience. Another way in which they stand out is the fact that they are a symmetrical shaped font in capital letters which has a simple, bold and easy to read yet very effective idea behind it. The camera angles help the viewer to see the 3D effect of the names. The music accompanying the credits helps to create tension in this and emphasises the size of the credits up against the huge skyscrapers in the background. In these particular opening credits they do not tell us much about the film itself, just where the film may be set ( in a famous city in America) but does not ruin the plot or story line for us to draw us in more as the film will be more thrilling and exciting for the viewer.
