Analysis of the opening sequence of Buried.
This piece is animated which doesn't give away too much about the film, which for a thriller could have been done to build tension as people don't really think of an animated piece as being a thriller.
It is in reversed out copy which makes the words show up as they are bright colours on a darker background. The font looks although it has been drawn on with chalk as the letters are slightly faded in places. This gives a good effect as it is different and slightly haunting. Although, the font is clear and easy to read which has clearly been done so the viewers don't struggle to understand. There are boxes around some letters and the words are linked together with lines that flow throughout, this makes it more exciting rather than the words just standing on their own. It could also represent blood trickling which links into the thriller genre. This piece is integrated, meaning that the words are into the background.
In this sequence the movement gets faster towards the end and the music becomes more frantic. Some of the images are made 3D and look although they are coming out of the screen at you. The overall sequence gets more complex towards the end which would be done to build suspense for the film which is about to take place.
