Thriller openings, first 5 mins of Abduction.

Camera- Establishing shot over trees, tracking following the car. Birds eye view over the car. Point of view shot looking out of the car. You then see the camera pan away from the original establishing shot of the trees, to a second of the busy towns and roads of America. Close up on the boy and girls faces at the party, shows the obvious eye contact which may provoke the audience to feel awkward. Close up on the boys laughing face, could represent he doesn't have much time left of being happy.

Editing-  Jump cuts between the people at the party and the main characters. Then cuts to night time, evidently skipping parts of the party that are not significant.

Mis-en-scene-Looking over the trees and a lake, looks pleasant and calm. Boy is casually dressed sitting on the car. Everyone is dressed casually at the party. Wearing bikinis and hula clothing. The first five mins has nothing in relation to the film being a thriller, this builds up suspension as you don't know when things will start happening.

Sound- Action packed non diagetic sound, encourages the reader to get the feel of the film. The boys are shouting and laughing, sound happy. There is diagetic music at the party. Lots of background noise, shouting and laughing, adds to the effect of the party.
